HiClip Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of HiClip (“we”, “us”) governing your use of the HiClip iOS app, website, and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 18, or between 14 and 18 with guardian consent and supervision. You agree to provide accurate registration information, keep it current, safeguard your credentials and device, and notify us immediately of unauthorized use.

You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or create risk for other users or the Service.

HiClip helps you import long-form video, transcribe speech, generate and rank candidate clips, review scores and context warnings, adjust cut points, export clips with captions, and publish to connected platforms.

AI output is a suggestion. We do not guarantee that a clip is accurate, complete, suitable for a particular audience, or compliant with the rules of a publishing platform. You decide what to export and publish.

• Do not use unauthorized films or other people’s video. This includes films, TV shows, sports events, paid courses, other creators’ videos, and content reposted from another platform. Editing, removing watermarks, changing subtitles, speeding up footage, or calling it a “re-cut”, “commentary”, or “reaction” does not grant you a license and may still infringe copyright.
• You have obtained any required consent for other people’s likeness, voice, names, and personal information appearing in the video.
• Your content and your processing do not infringe copyright, trademark, patent, publicity, reputation, privacy, personal-information, or other rights.
• Your content does not violate law or these terms, including the acceptable-use rules below.

Editing, adjusting, and exporting a video does not change its ownership or give you rights you did not already have. The app asks you to confirm these rights when you import video.

You are responsible for the consequences of violating these warranties. If your content triggers a complaint, claim, or regulatory or judicial process, we may restrict or terminate your account and seek indemnity as described below.

Your content remains yours. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license, with the right to sublicense to service providers, to receive and store uploads, transcode and preview media, transcribe speech, analyze and rank clips, render exports, sync projects and review state across your devices, and otherwise process content as necessary to provide the Service.

The license is limited to providing the Service and is governed by the Privacy Policy. We do not publicly display your content, use it for advertising, or use it to train general-purpose AI models for other users. We will ask for separate consent before using your content in a case study or marketing material.

You may not:

• Upload or process content you do not have the right to use, including unauthorized films, TV shows, sports, courses, or other creators’ videos.
• Infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, reputation, or personal-information rights.
• Upload malware, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with or overload the Service, or bypass usage limits or security controls.
• Use the Service to create or distribute illegal, harmful, harassing, hateful, or fraudulent content.
• Resell, sublicense, scrape, reverse engineer, or misappropriate the Service except as permitted by law.

We may remove content, suspend processing, or restrict or terminate access when we reasonably believe these rules have been violated, and we may report illegal activity to authorities.

Processing consumes credits. Membership plans and credit packs are purchased through Apple In-App Purchase, and Apple’s terms also apply. Prices, currencies, taxes, and promotions are determined by the App Store and shown at purchase.

HiClip Pro is an auto-renewing subscription. It renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in App Store subscription settings. Deleting your HiClip account does not cancel the subscription, and refunds are handled by Apple.

Credits and benefits may expire or reset as described in the app. We may change plans or credit rules prospectively; changes do not affect purchases already completed.

Clip selection, scores, titles, summaries, captions, and translations are generated by models and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or biased. They are not professional advice. You must review content before export or publication and verify facts, rights, and platform compliance.

We label AI-generated or synthesized content where required. You are responsible for complying with platform rules and applicable labeling requirements when you publish.

The Service, including software, design, text, graphics, and trademarks, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. These terms do not grant you ownership of the Service or permission to use our trademarks without written consent.

You retain ownership of your content. Feedback you provide may be used to improve the Service without obligation to compensate you.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service, and may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these terms, legal requirements, security risks, or non-payment. Where reasonable, we will give notice and an opportunity to export accepted clips.

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account in the app. Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including content warranties, licenses for already-rendered exports, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnity—will survive.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure operation, or that AI output will meet your expectations.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, or reputational harm. Our aggregate liability arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or the minimum amount required by law.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

If you download the app from the Apple App Store, Apple’s Media Services Terms also apply. Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide support or handle claims relating to the app, except as required by Apple’s own terms.

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Subscription management, renewals, and refunds are handled by Apple.

We may update these terms as the Service and law change. The updated version will be published with a new effective date; material changes will be communicated prominently. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China. Disputes will be resolved through good-faith negotiation; if that fails, either party may bring a claim before a court of competent jurisdiction at the operator’s location, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
